The Altima will be offered with a bevy of so-called driver aids (which
we reckon should probably be thought of as
people-who-shouldn’t-really-be-drivers aids) including blind-spot
warning, lane-departure warning, and something called moving-object
detection. The last two of those use a rear-mounted camera to either
watch lane markers for the lane-departure system or, well, detect moving
objects behind the car and warn the driver while backing up. The interior's a big contrast: it's conservatively drawn, with straight lines dividing off the center stack of controls from the driver and the passenger. There's also more space left for larger LCD screens for more advanced infotainment systems, a selling point where the Altima's lagged behind the Koreans and Americans.

The basics begin with a new shape, which Nissan says comes from an emotional take on styling, and some advanced manufacturing techniques that enable some complex surfaces on the Altima's attractive new body. The front end wears some of the angled, arrowed cues of other Nissans and Infinitis at the headlamps and taillights, while the side glass tapers gradually to a tasteful backstop. The fenders swell out in ways that recall Nissan's compact Juke crossover.

Powertrains begin with the core 182-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder
and continuously variable transmission (CVT) found in today's Altima and
in a range of other Nissan products. Tuned here for higher mileage than
ever, Nissan's aiming for an EPA highway rating of 27 miles per gallon
city, 38 miles per gallon highway, putting it on par with some hybrids
and above leaders like today's standard Hyundai Sonata, rated at 35 mpg

The new Altima looks awesome. Currently I own a Pathfinder and am looking to downsize into something smaller with better gas mileage. I want to stay within this brand because everything I have had a problem in the past with my car being fixed getting nissan parts has been very convenient and easy. Looks like the new Altima is definitely going to be an option for me.
My husband has an older Altima, and he loves it. I just purchased Nissan Altima parts online and now its running like its brand new. My car just broke down and I think I am going to get the new Altima. It is such a nice car. I really like it in white!
